Sacramento Kings forward Zach Randolph was arrested Wednesday (August 9, 2017) night in Los Angeles, California.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Randolph was arrested along with another man during an alleged incident at the Nickerson Gardens housing project in Watts. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. when a crowd formed and were allegedly drinking, smoking marijuana, playing loud music and blocking the roadway. The crowd allegedly vandalized six law enforcement vehicles, smashed windows and slashed tires.
Randolph, 36, signed a two-year, $24-million deal with the Kings on July 10.
UPDATE: Randolph was charged on Thursday (August 31, 2017) with misdemeanor possession of more than 1 ounce of marijuana and misdemeanor resisting arrest.
UPDATE #2: Randolph pleaded no contest on Wednesday (September 13, 2017). He was sentenced to 150 hours of community service.
UPDATE #3: The case against Randolph was dismissed on Thursday (September 13, 2018). The judge noted that Randolph had completed his 150 hours of community service and ordered that his no contest plea be withdrawn.
