Former NFL tight end Brandon Pettigrew was arrested on Monday (July 9, 2018) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pettigrew allegedly refused to pay $97 for a limousine ride he took to a hotel and got into an argument with the driver. Police were called to the hotel. Pettigrew was allegedly visibly intoxicated, refused to identify himself to police and argued with police. He is accused of punching one of the officers three times in the chest.
Pettigrew, 33, played in the NFL with the Detroit Lions from 2009 to 2016.
