Cleveland Browns linebacker Mychal Kendricks was charged on Wednesday (August 29, 2018).
According to NFL.com, Kendricks was charged by federal authorities in an alleged insider trading scheme. Kendricks is accused of profiting around $1.2 million by using material non-public information from a banker at a global investment firm to make investments between July 2014 and March 2015. Kendricks allegedly gave $10,000 and Philadelphia Eagles tickets in exchange for the information.
Kendricks, 27, was released by the Browns after being charged.
UPDATE: Kendricks pleaded guilty on Thursday (September 6, 2018).
