Kansas City Royals prospect Bubba Starling was cited Saturday (September 24, 2011) in Tempe, California.
Starling was one of three Royals prospects cited during a random alcohol checkpoint after the Arizona State and USC football game. The other two players were not identified. Five players were in the vehicle at the time and none of the players tested over the legal limit.
Starling, 19, was the fifth overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft.
