Name: John Boyett
Team: Indianapolis Colts (NFL)
Charges: Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication, Resisting Law Enforcement
Indianapolis Colts safety John Boyett was arrested early Monday (September 2, 2013) in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Boyett was arrested after an altercation with police. The incident occurred at a downtown bar after an employee notified an uniformed officer that Boyett refused to leave after being cut off because he was too intoxicated. Boyett left but eventually returned to the same bar some time later where police attempted to place him under arrest. Boyett resisted, throwing a stiff arm at the officer and allegedly told him “You can’t arrest me, I’m a Colts player,” before running away from the officer.
Boyett, 23, was drafted in the sixth round in the 2013 NFL Draft. He is currently on the non-football injury list.
