University of Pittsburgh tight end Andrew Carswell, defensive lineman, Khaynin Mosley-Smith and linebacker Eric Williams were arrested early Friday (April 26, 2013) morning in Pennsylvania.

Carswell, Mosley-Smith and Williams were arrested along another man at a residence after police allegedly found heroin and drug paraphernalia when they conducted a search of the residence.

The three men were suspended indefinitely on Thursday (April 25, 2013). On Tuesday (April 30, 2013), Carswell and Williams were dismissed from the team.

University of Pittsburgh quarterback Tra’Von Chapman was charged on Monday (April 29, 2013) in Portage County, Ohio.

Chapman, 18, was charged for allegedly assaulting a woman at his residence on Friday (April 26, 2013).

Chapman, a freshman, was suspended indefinitely following this incident.

Trey Zeigler Charged

University of Pittsburgh guard/forward Trey Zeigler was charged on Sunday (November 25, 2012) in Oakland, Pennsylvania.

Zeigler, 21, was charged after he was allegedly found passed out inside his vehicle at an intersection. He failed all field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol content of .129 percent.

Steve Williams Charged

University of Pittsburgh defensive back Steve Williams was charged on Saturday (November 24, 2012) in Oakland, Pennsylvania.

Williams, a redshirt freshman, was charged after allegedly assaulting a woman.

Williams, 19, has been dismissed from the team following this incident.

Ray Graham, Devin Street, Lafayette Pitts Charged

University of Pittsburgh running back Ray Graham, wide receiver Devin Street and defensive back Lafayette Pitts were charged Thursday (November 1, 2012) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The players have been charged in connection with an October 21 incident involving three other students, one of whom was allegedly hit in the head during a brief confrontation. The players were not arrested but have been mailed summonses to appear in court on January 9.

University of Pittsburgh linebacker Carl Fleming was arrested Friday (March 30, 2012) night in Oakland, Pennsylvania.

Fleming was arrested after police approached his vehicle while it was in the parking lot of the One Stop Mini-Mart because it didn’t have visible registration. Police saw Fleming try to swallow a bag containing marijuana, so they removed him from the vehicle and one of the officers hit him in the side of the face, forcing the bag out of his mouth. While trying to handcuff him, Fleming struggled and attempted to flee.

Lucas Nix Charged

University of Pittsburgh offensive tackle Lucas Nix was charged Thursday (January 5, 2012) in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania.

Nix faces charges after an incident that occurred December 26, 2011 in which he was allegedly involved in an altercation with West Virginia University linemen Pat Eger and Joe Madsen at Eger’s residence. Nix went to Eger’s residence to pick up his brother Nate. When Nix arrived, he damaged the front door and got into a verbal dispute with Eger and Madsen. The Nix brothers and Eger played football for the same high school.

Nix, a senior, was not arrested and received a notice of the charges in the mail on Thursday (January 5th).

Anthony Gonzalez, Jarrod West Arrested

University of Pittsburgh quarterback Anthony Gonzalez and Syracuse University wide receiver Jarrod West were arrested early Friday (May 20, 2011) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Gonzalez and West were arrested along with another man, Jamyl Aminu, at 12:46 a.m.

Gonzalez, 19, was suspended indefinitely after this incident.

Mike Haywood Arrested

According to post-gazette.com, University of Pittsburgh football head coach Mike Haywood was arrested Friday (December 31, 2010) in St. Joseph County, Indiana.

Haywood, 46, was arrested around 3 p.m. after he engaged in a custody dispute with the mother of his 21-month-old child. The woman told police that Haywood grabbed her by the arm and neck and pushed her as she tried to leave. The woman had marks on her neck, arms and back.

Haywood, 46, was hired as the new head coach on December 16, 2010, but was fired after this incident. He was later released on $1,000 cash bond.

Jeff Knox Arrested

According to post-gazette.com, University of Pittsburgh safety Jeff Knox was arrested Wednesday (September 22, 2010) night.

Knox allegedly knocked his girlfriend to the ground, choked her and slammed her head into a wall in front of a Chatham University dormitory. The incident went down after she found out she was pregnant and called to tell him.

Knox, a freshman, was dismissed from the team after this incident.
